About This Spot
Arriving in the heart of Gothenburg's Haga district on an overcast day, the air was filled with the enticing aroma of cinnamon from the local pastries. We wandered past charming shops and cafes, eventually settling at Prinsesstårta Café for a traditional fika. The moment we stepped inside, the cozy atmosphere enveloped us, and the sight of the giant cinnamon rolls, or hagabullar, was captivating. Each roll was larger than life, with a beautifully spiraled cinnamon sugar interior that was both fluffy and moist. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the classic Swedish Princess Cake, Prinsesstårta. This green marzipan-covered marvel was filled with layers of cream and raspberry, delivering a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. The cake was not only visually stunning but also a true taste of Sweden, making our fika experience unforgettable.
